That right-wing poverty pimping couple of Michelle Rhee and Kevin Johnson could land a lecture spot on the topic of “Ethics in Education” strains all credulity until one sees the event is being presented by a hedge fund manager. Given that another talk in the series is entitled “The Ethics of Capitalism,” it isn’t hard to see doublespeak abounds. After all, anyone even willing to discuss ethics in the context of an amoral economic system that is utterly devoid of ethics is probably just delusional enough to attend a lecture by possibly the two least qualified people to discuss either education or ethics.
On the other hand, the privatization pushing pair do have a great deal of experience at being wholly unethical. Perhaps Mayor “Roaming Hands” Johnson can do a talk about his ethics of frequently groping underage girls at his privately managed charter schools and Ms. “Magic Erasure” Rhee can speak to the morality of her cheating scandal in D.C.
